The Myers-Briggs® Personality Types of the Spy X Family Characters

Loid Forger – INTJ

INTJ Loid Forger

“To endure such a harsh job… for the sake of another, for the sake of something greater than oneself… That isn’t something that just anyone would do. I truly admire that.” – Loid Forger

Meet Loid Forger, the quintessential INTJ personality type. This highly-intelligent mastermind excels at capturing information and tricking his opponents. But when he is entrusted with the role of a loving husband and father, his strategic mindset is put to the test. You’ll witness his journey as he navigates the complexities of parenting, from adjusting to a lack of personal space, dealing with fluctuating moods, to becoming emotionally in tune with his family. This series not only showcases the challenges faced by INTJs in parenting but also highlights their ability to stay ahead of the game and manage multiple tasks effectively when they’re at their best.

Yor (Briar) Forger – ISFJ

Yor Forger ISFJ

“I’m sorry to have bothered you… But could I choke the life out your body, Mister?” – Yor (Briar) Forger

Let’s talk about Yor (Briar) Forger AKA the “Thorn Princess” – a badass assassin posing as a civil servant to stay alive. But don’t be fooled by her tough exterior – she’s a softie at heart, especially when it comes to family. Yor was orphaned young and took it upon herself to care for her little brother. This nurturing spirit still shines through as she steps into her role as Anya Forger’s stepmom. Yor likes to follow social norms and sometimes worries about not being “normal”. But her empathy, kindness, and fierce protectiveness make her an incredible parent. She’ll stop at nothing to keep her loved ones safe – even if it means kicking some serious butt.

Anya Forger – ENFP

Anya Forger ENFP

“Papa is the world’s biggest liar. But… he’s a cool liar.” – Anya Forger

Let me introduce you to Anya Forger! This imaginative little girl is the adopted daughter of Loid Forger, and she’s quite the adventurer. Using her impressive imagination, she creates endless hypotheses on how her exploits will play out. Unfortunately, her predictions are often a bit too optimistic and leave her feeling disappointed. As an ENFP, her creative ideas and emotional intelligence are always on display—despite her young age. She knows the Forger family’s secrets but dreams of becoming a permanent fixture in their quirky home. We can’t wait to see how Spy X Family shapes her character as she grows up!

Yuri Briar – ENTJ

Yuri Briar ENTJ

“You’d be much better off if you were honest.” – Yuri Briar

Now let’s move on to Yuri Briar: a seemingly nice guy who plays it cool for his sister Yor, but secretly, he’s a ruthless member of SSS organization. With a penchant for manipulative interrogations, Yuri is skeptical of people who don’t fit his pattern, especially Loid Forger, who he sees as a huge threat. He’s smart, calculating, and values his country’s interests above all else—even if that means doing a few underhanded things. He’s the ENTJ embodiment of intelligence, structure, and competence.

Becky Blackbell – ESFP

Becky Blackbell ESFP

“I’ll protect you, no matter what!” – Becky Blackbell

Let’s chat about Becky Blackbell, Anya’s friend from Eden Academy. She’s a sassy ESFP who couldn’t care less if she fits in with the prestigious kids at school. She’s fiercely independent and loyal to Anya, even in the face of playground politics. When shopping with Anya, Becky’s eye for detail and love of adventure shines through. Though she may seem outspoken or even superficial on the outside, Becky’s got a heart of gold and a fun-loving spirit that’s hard to resist.

Damian Desmond – ESTJ

ESTJ Damian Desmond

“What is this awkward sensation I’m feeling in my chest?” – Damian Desmond

Poor Damian Desmond. We all feel for the guy — his relationship with his reclusive father, Donovan, is on thin ice. Damian’s convinced that his only shot at being noticed by his dad is to crush it at school. He’s super competitive, hard-working, and driven. Plus, he knows how to buckle down and focus on his studies without getting sidetracked by more frivolous activities like his peers. But if you look past the tough exterior, you’ll find someone incredibly sensitive, with a big heart. All Damian wants is to be accepted and loved by his father… and honestly, maybe even by the quirky and vulnerable Anya (though he’d never admit it). The outspoken, focused exterior with the more vulnerable and sensitive interior is characteristic of the ESTJ personality type.

Fiona Frost “Nightfall” – ISTJ

ISTJ Fiona Frost Nightfall

“Remember I can have you incarcerated if you refuse to cooperate. So spare me the attitude and do as I say.” – Fiona Frost

Meet Fiona Frost aka “Nightfall” – a fictional character who can make you both laugh and cringe at the same time. She’s got an eagle eye for details, planning like a champ, and won’t hesitate to criticize her partner’s performance as long as it helps them improve. Fiona has an air of coldness around her, but her passionate feelings are bubbling just beneath the surface. Although it’s exaggerated in the series, ISTJs look much colder on the outside than they feel on the inside. Like Fiona, they possess a dutiful nature, with an attention to detail that’s impressive.

Camilla – ESFJ

Camilla ESFJ

“I’ll embarrass her in front of everyone!” – Camilla

Let’s talk Camilla. She’s not exactly the nurturing, kind-hearted ESFJ that we love. No, she’s more of a “mean girl” ESFJ. She’s got a talent for cooking and gossiping, and she’s pretty suspicious of Yor. At the outset, she tries to butter Yor up, but ends up getting fed up with her unpredictable behavior and lack of culinary chops. Don’t get us wrong, Camilla’s not all bad – she does show Yor how to make a mean stew. But she can be pretty impatient, cliquey, and a bit of a bully.

Henry Henderson – ISTJ

ISTJ Henry Henderson

“We must ascertain whether or not they have true elegance.” – Henry Henderson

Ahhh…the oh-so elegant Henry Henderson. Henderson is a duty-bound, organized man with a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for hard work, politeness, grace, and refinement in the classroom. Though he may come off as strict and a bit intimidating at first, he truly cares about his students and his good heart shines through once you get to know him.

Franky Franklin – ENTP

Franky Franklin ENTP

“You’re literally a spy. Couldn’t you have done my disguise better?” – Franky Franklin

Franky Franklin has a lot of trouble keeping up with Loid Forger’s strenuous adventures. He’s a creative and funny guy, so when Anya suggests putting together a real-life spy show re-enactment at an actual palace, he convinces Loid to do it as part of Operation Strix. I’m typing Franky as an ENTP, but he lacks the social awareness and charm that most ENTPs possess – although, to be fair, he is a fairly one-dimensional character. While he does have the inventiveness and logic of the ENTP, most real-life ENTPs tend to be more socially aware and have a better understanding of people’s feelings.

George Glooman – INFP

INFP George Glooman

“This is my last day at Eden, tomorrow I live on the streets.” – George Glooman

Poor George Glooman has an imagination that runs wild and emotions that run even wilder. One day, he assumed his dad lost his job and he’d be kicked out of Eden. It got so intense that even his classmates got caught up in the story! They adored George for a day, until his assumption turned out not to be true. What an embarrassing position for George!

While George is a pretty exaggerated version of an INFP, he also showcases some of their strengths. He follows his values, his feelings, and a sense of what really matters. And boy, can he imagine things! He’s also someone who naturally pieces together clues and looks for connections; even if his predictions are a bit off at times.

Sylvia Sherwood, “Handler” – INTJ

INTJ Sylvia Sherwood

“Good day, or perhaps…Good evening, Agent Twilight.” – Sylvia Sherwood

When we meet Sylvia Sherwood, aka “The Handler,” she seems a bit distant and cold. But as we get to know her more, we come to understand her deep commitment and personal conviction to her work at <WISE>. Sherwood’s amazing instincts have helped her to anticipate potentially dangerous situations in Ostania. Yes, she may resemble a typical INTJ with her calculated demeanor, but she has an underlying compassion and commitment to her beliefs that shines through during her conversation with Anya.

Bond “Subject 8” – INFJ

Bond Subject 8 INFJ

Meet Bond “Subject 8,” the wise and intuitive dog who steals Anya’s heart. Sure, personality profiling a dog might seem silly, but in this comedic fictional anime, anything goes. Bond possesses the insight and vision of an INFJ, making him a master at predicting future outcomes. But he’s also got a ton of warmth and protectiveness, typical of this personality type. We just can’t get enough of him!

Daybreak – ESTP

Daybreak ESTP

“My name is Daybreak. Well, my secret code name is, anyway. And I’m an elite spy employed by a certain client.” – Daybreak

Meet Daybreak – a comedic and rather immature ESTP personality type trying to infiltrate Eden Academy. Somersaulting his way into the school and aiming to be a spy, Daybreak causes all sorts of chaos and confusion, with Loid Forger left struggling to keep up. Although he falls short of his objective to change a student’s grades, Daybreak’s tactical cleverness and unique swagger definitely make an impression. Sure, we know you ESTPs are much more brilliant than this guy, but you can’t help but love his hilarious antics.

Donovan Desmond – INTP (Possibly)

Donovan Desmond INTP

Donovan Desmond doesn’t get much screen-time in the series but his role is key to the storyline. At this point, I’m hesitantly typing him as INTP, but that could change with more info in the future. Despite his being solitary, smart, and strategic, Donovan seems to undervalue his relationships and struggle a bit with social interactions – especially with his son, Desmond. Interestingly, he tries to be friendly with Loid Forger, and maintains some level of social decorum. We can’t help but wonder if Desmond opened up more, whether Donovan would offer him the validation he craves.

Dominic – ENFJ

Dominic ENFJ

We don’t know a whole lot about Dominic, so again – this profiling is tentative. But he exudes all the charm and charisma of an ENFJ personality type. He’s the kind of guy who brings people together, always finding individual strengths to complement one another and create a harmonious environment. Dominic’s social skills are off the charts, and he’s a natural at diffusing any tension that may arise. We kinda love his character and hope we’ll see more of him in Season 2 of Spy X Family!
