14 Shows You’ll Love as an INFJ

It’s evening. You’re tired. You’ve had an exhausting day at work, at home, managing projects, tasks, and people. You just want to relax. So like many of us, you decide to kick back on the couch and open Netflix. You want a show that makes you think. You want stories that dig deep into the human psyche and leave you reflecting long after the credits roll. As an MBTI® practitioner who works with INFJs every day, I’ve heard this a lot: you sit down, open a streaming app, and scroll endlessly, only to find a sea of shallow, uninspiring options. Nothing grabs your soul or challenges your mind.

INFJs need substance. You want stories that unravel mysteries, explore complex morality, and create a profound emotional connection to the characters. Superficial plotlines won’t cut it unless you’re just too tired to think at all. A lot of mainstream fluff can bore you to tears. An INFJ I know once told me they only enjoy a show if it “ruins their life a little” because it means the story truly resonated. If you can relate to that sentiment, you’re in the right place.

14 Shows You’ll Love as an INFJ

1. Severance

Severance, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: Employees at a bizarre company have their memories surgically split between work and personal lives.

Why INFJs love it: This show is a playground for philosophical thought. You’ll find yourself obsessing over questions about identity, free will, and what actually defines who we are. The slow-burn pacing allows you to connect the subtle dots, you wont’ feel rushed, but you also won’t feel bored. One INFJ client told me that they already disassociate at work, so Severance feels oddly relatable.

2. The OA

The Gist: A blind woman returns after disappearing for seven years, with her sight suddenly restored. She gathers a group of outcasts for a mysterious mission.

Why INFJs love it: This series has been recommended to me by so many INFJs and when I watched it, it was easy to see why. It is pure mysticism and emotion, demanding faith in the unseen. As an INFJ, you’re naturally drawn to the profound and spiritual, and The OA taps into those exact sensibilities. The show’s exploration of trauma, healing, and human connection will appeal to your empathetic nature and love for the metaphysical.

3. Dark

Dark, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: When two children go missing in a German town, it exposes the fractured relationships and dark secrets of four families spanning generations.

Why INFJs love it: While most time-travel shows focus on flashy action, Dark is rooted in grief, fate, and the painful depths of human suffering. You’ll need a notebook to track the mind-bending family trees and timelines, but your mind will relish the challenge. This is definitely a show for Ni-doms. We love anything that we can dig into, explore, and theorize about. It’s got a slow-burn pacing and every scene is intentional. You’re intuition will pick up clues, meanings, and symbols that others might miss as they watch. The show’s exploration of how choices ripple through time will satisfy your perceptive, big-picture perspective.

4. Mindhunter

Mindhunter, a show INFJs would love

The Gist: In the late 1970s, FBI agents interview imprisoned serial killers to understand their behavior and apply that knowledge to ongoing cases.

Why INFJs love it: As natural psychologists, you’re fascinated by why people behave the way they do—especially when it comes to the darker corners of the human mind. The show follows characters who immerse themselves in the minds of criminals, and you’ll likely relate to their struggle to maintain their emotional balance while absorbing so much darkness. I personally think FBI agent Holden Ford is an INFJ, so you might find yourself relating to him as he works against the grain to uncover the psychology of evil.

5. The Sinner

The Sinner, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: A detective explores crimes committed by unlikely suspects, digging into the “why” instead of just solving the “who.”

Why INFJs love it: This show is practically tailor-made for you. Rather than focusing on a typical chase for the culprit, it delves into the hidden traumas and deep-seated motives that drive people to snap. Every INFJ I know is interested in uncovering the psychological roots of behavior, so you’ll find yourself hooked. I also think it’s possible that Detective Harry Ambrose could be an INFJ.

6. Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: Humanity lives behind massive walls to protect themselves from man-eating giants, but the story evolves far beyond that premise.

Why INFJs love it: If you’ve ever considered getting into anime, this is a great introduction to the art form. Attack on Titan is a masterclass in moral ambiguity. What begins as a seemingly straightforward battle between good and evil grows into a layered exploration of freedom, war, and the cycle of hatred. INFJs will appreciate the philosophical depth and emotional weight in every twist and turn. Just make sure to have a box of tissues handy when you watch this!

7. Sense8

Sense8, a TV Show INFJs would love

The Gist: Eight strangers across the globe discover they are mentally and emotionally linked, sharing experiences and abilities.

Why INFJs love it: If you’re an INFJ, Sense8 tends to hit the part that already feels connected to people in ways you can’t always explain. The show revolves around emotional and psychic interconnectedness, which feels less like fantasy and more like a dramatized version of what you already experience when you absorb moods, anticipate needs, or sense underlying truths. There’s a strong current of empathy, identity, and meaning pieced through every storyline, and it doesn’t shy away from the messy, human parts of that: trauma, longing, purpose, belonging. INFJs often feel like outsiders looking for a deeper, almost fated connection to others, and Sense8 builds an entire world around that feeling. It’s intense, idealistic, a little overwhelming at times, but ultimately hopeful in that very specific INFJ way: the belief that understanding each other deeply could actually change everything.

8. The Good Place

The Good Place, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: A flawed woman dies and accidentally ends up in a heaven-like utopia. She must hide her imperfections to stay there.

Why INFJs love it: Not every INFJ wants to dive deep into a slow-burn, dark series (though, from my conversations, it seems like most do). This is for the INFJs who need something lighter. This hilarious yet profound show is a crash course in moral philosophy, tackling dilemmas about what it means to be a good person with warmth and wit. As an INFJ, you likely spend a lot of time reflecting on morality, so you’ll appreciate how the show balances complex ideas with humor and heart.

9. Midnight Mass

The Gist: A mysterious priest arrives on an isolated island, sparking miraculous events and sinister consequences.

Why INFJs love it: This dialogue-heavy series explores themes of faith, guilt, and mortality with emotional depth. The gorgeous monologues will captivate your introspective side, while the horror rooted in human fanaticism hits closer to home than typical jump scares ever could.

10. The Promised Neverland

The Promised Neverland, a TV shows INFJs would love

The Gist: Orphans living in a seemingly idyllic orphanage uncover a horrifying secret about their true purpose.

Why INFJs love it: INFJs tend to get pulled into The Promised Neverland because it blends intuition with moral urgency in a way that feels almost tailor-made for how their minds work. Norman, especially, carries that signature INFJ mix of empathy and resolve. He refuses to sacrifice people for efficiency, even when the world is basically screaming that he should. The whole story hinges on reading between the lines, noticing what doesn’t add up, and trusting a deeper knowing before there’s concrete proof: very Ni. At the same time, it wrestles with heavy questions about survival, innocence, and what it means to protect others without losing your humanity.

11. Erased

Erased, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: A man with the ability to rewind time is sent back 18 years to prevent a childhood tragedy.

Why INFJs love it: You often wish you could fix the past, and this story taps into that longing beautifully. It’s a gripping mystery wrapped in a tale of emotional healing, with a protagonist driven by a fierce desire to protect the vulnerable; someone you’ll relate to.

12. Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer, an anime INFJs would love

The Gist: After his family is slaughtered, a kind-hearted boy becomes a demon slayer to save his sister, who has been turned into a demon.

Why INFJs love it: INFJs often connect with Demon Slayer because beneath all the action, it’s really about compassion in the face of suffering. Tanjiro embodies that rare kind of empathy INFJs recognize instantly. He refuses to dehumanize even the people he’s fighting, sensing the pain and brokenness behind their actions. There’s also a strong thread of purpose running through the story: a quiet, selfless commitment to protect others and restore what’s been lost, even when the cost is high. The show doesn’t pretend the world is kind, but it still insists that kindness matters anyway. And that tension, between harsh reality and stubborn hope, tends to land right in an INFJ’s chest and stay there.

13. BoJack Horseman

Bojack Horseman, a TV show INFJS would love

The Gist: A washed-up sitcom actor struggles with depression, broken relationships, and existential dread in a world of anthropomorphic animals.

Why INFJs love it: Don’t let the cartoon style fool you; this show is brutally honest about human flaws and the messy path to self-improvement. Its nuanced depiction of depression and existential questions will hit close to home, offering both validation and reflection for INFJs who often grapple with similar themes.

14. This Is Us

This Is Us, a TV show INFJs would love

The Gist: A deeply emotional story following a unique set of triplets, their challenges, and their remarkable parents across several decades.

Why INFJs love it: INFJs tend to love This Is Us because it lingers in the emotional undercurrents most shows rush past. I liked that this show wasn’t just about showing event sin a linear order. It focused on why each person’s experience matters, how it shapes people over time, and the invisible threads connecting past, present, and future. The nonlinear storytelling feels very intuitive: patterns slowly revealing themselves, small moments branching out across decades. And then there’s the emotional depth: the way characters wrestle with identity, belonging, regret, and meaning in a raw, human way.
